Founded in 1968 by Eric Peck, who is still Chairman, the business is managed by his two sons Gary and Terry as Joint Managing Directors. Capital Roofing started as a flat roofing company, but over the years has expanded its areas of expertise into slating, tiling and specialist lead work and has allied its skill in these areas to a high level of customer service. In an industry that has not always enjoyed the best of reputations, the company is regarded as an outstanding example of true professionalism in the quality of its work and in the way it conducts its normal business practices. This is borne out by the number of awards it has won and the confidence its clients have in their dealings with Capital. This has enabled the company to achieve a steady growth, whilst at the same time generating a healthy and exciting annual increase in turnover. Training is at the heart of the company's strategy, as mirrored by its Mission Statement 'Look to the Future', and in 2003 the company built its own dedicated Training Centre. This bears further testimony to the company's ethos in its pursuit of excellence. Although primarily for their own staff, this superb facility is also in demand from the industry's recognised institutions. The Company always endeavours to carry at least 4 Apprentices in its workforce. This is typical of the brothers' commitment to the future, and perhaps explains their keen interest and huge involvement with youth projects and charity support. Recently the Company launched its new division under the banner of ‘Seamless Waterproofing’. This innovative approach to roofing, which involves spraying existing surfaces with a ‘cold’ process, is considered to be an exciting addition to the Company’s portfolio. Obviously, training will be conducted in-house in the Company’s own Training Centre and apprenticeships will be available. From its humble beginnings in the building above, the same site now houses Capital's impressive purpose-built offices, and their clients now include the House of Lords, Scotland Yard and the Coach House at Buckingham Palace, as well as many Government, Local Authority, commercial and industrial projects. No job is too large or too small, and all receive the same quality controls and standards of craftsmanship. |
